I possess over 20 years experience as a licensed psychotherapist and earned both a master's degree in clinical social work and a post graduate school certification in cognitive behavioral therapy. I am also the founder of The Holistic Resilience Training system.
The vast majority of my clinical practice centered on helping victims of crime, law enforcement officers, and military personnel. These clients suffered the most unimaginable traumas. In the beginning, I followed the prescribed protocols, accepted the limitations of conventional practice, and did the best I could do. I helped a lot of people. However, there were some who, no matter what I did, continued to be traumatized. That was unacceptable. I had to find a better way.
I realized that if I shifted from the goal of just helping clients be well to focusing on building their holistic resilience, they achieved remarkably better outcomes. When I integrated holistic resilience training into their therapy, my clients started to realize a cessation of their current experience of negative thoughts and emotions, were able to overcome them, and become even stronger. This approach inherently positioned my clients into a state of consistent growth.
You are not broken. The focus in the vast majority of therapy and coaching has been on feeling good rather than being good.
